DBZ Kakarot is probably the best game to experience the Dragon Ball Z Canon story. The game in some sense turns into a 3D arena fighting game once you go into battle and you can’t use your fighting moves when flying around the world. Overall it’s a good game but it does have its issues.
Things I liked: -Being able to freely explore and fly around the different areas from the DBZ world and they covered almost everything.
-OST and opening from the anime -Beautiful graphics
-Fighting System was fun and being able to customize your super moves was great
-Boss fights are amazing and I liked how we got to fight every Villain even the minor one’s such as Dodoria, Cui, Pui Pui, Yakon etc.
-Bosses has some unique features such as android 19 being able to absorb energy blasts to regain his health or switching to a top down view to avoid frieza destructo disc attack.
-finding pics from the original dragon ball series which made me want to watch it and see Goku’s Adventure as a kid.
-Amazing cut scenes and english voice acting
-Finally being able to collect the dragon balls.
Things I didn’t like: -Probably one of the worst RPG elements I have ever seen as they are so insignificant to you powering up the characters because the story missions will have you at the right power level by giving you a huge number of XP so there isn’t any grinding to do even if you wanted to.
-Buying health capsules and getting senzu beans with no limits on how much you could carry going into battle made the game easy.
-side quests were kinda boring and doesn’t really add that much XP.
I truly hope we get the same game treatment with Dragon Ball Super (with some improvements of course)
How much would you rate it? And what are your thoughts on it?
