I read yesterday that the average lifespan of Instagram content is 21 hours ⏰ and honestly I’m surprised it’s even that long with the current algorithm.
However, it put things into perspective for me. I’ve been so worked up lately about not being able to shoot content and hoarding photos to post when I have nothing else to upload, which I know is a totally okay way of doing this whole Instagram thing and I know it works for a lot of people. It just made me realise why do I feel like every aspect of my Instagram needs to be perfectly curated when in reality whatever I post will be old news in a matter of hours.
Instagram is a platform for creativity and experimenting, I completely get that as I work in social media everyday. I think my point is, Instagram has lost its spark for me now that I feel this ‘pressure’ to create something new every couple of days.
So on that note, here’s a photo from this morning of my @theoriginalflatlayco
cosmetics bag. It’s really friggin satisfying to just pull all your make up into one big scoop and off you go and I’ve wanted to share it on here for weeks now but I didn’t have time to take a perfectly set up photo of it 🤷🏼♀️ here it is in all its glory 👆🏼 my powder has exploded inside, the products are covered in finger marks and all I’ve done is stick a quick filter over the top ✌🏼
I might get my IG and blog mojo back at some point but for now I’m just winging it and sharing what feels right 🤳🏼
