I received this Bio Intensive Skin Conditioning Essence complimentary from IOPE and have been using it in my routines for a while now. I was intrigued because it seemed so similar to the SK-II essence/other super popular but $$$ skin ferments, and because I don’t have a ton of experience with essences OR fermented skincare, I figured @iope_US
as a well-regarded k-beauty brand would be a great starting point!
This essence is packed with saccharomyces ferment & ferment filtrate and is marketed as an anti-aging powerhouse that hydrates and preps the skin while brightening and smoothing the complexion.
It is a thin almost water-like consistency that makes it really easy to layer with other products, however I found it hard to use as much product as the bottle recommends (they have indentation lines on it that show how much you should use by 1wk up to a month). Nonetheless, this essence shows results much quicker than the only other fermented essence I’ve used (SK-II) and it DOESN’T SMELL. You see smoothing and brightening results pretty immediately with this one which I was not expecting at all.
I tried this with and without the included cotton pads and this is one time where I will say that a pad will yield better/more even results than just patting in product with your hands. It leaves a dewy finish and I love that beyond the fermented filtrate, it also has niacinamide, glycerin and a bunch of other really beneficial hydrating, skin-strengthening and complexion-evening ingredients. It actually reminds me more of the Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening Toner than anything else, which makes sense because they have very similar ingredients lists, including the saccharomyces ferment filtrate. I think the #iopeUS
acts more as a product that supports optimal skin health and the GM is more of a true treatment toner, but I enjoy both! Would love to hear any experiences you have had with this kind of product- if you find them beneficial, recommendations, etc! :)
